2020-2021 Softball Season

As 2020 Spring Rec softball has been cancelled, Emmorton turns its focus towards ensuring refunds are processed, and beginning to prepare and plan for activities in the fall of 2020 and beyond.  Almost all registered participants for spring ball, with the exception of about 5 or 6 families, requested refunds vs. future "credit".  The rec council has been working with the vendor who manages registrations and billing to ensure those customers are refunded.  SportsConnect (formerly BlueSombrero) is working to address the same situation with hundreds if not thousands of programs all across the country, so unfortunately there's been a delay in issuing those refunds.  If you did not specifically ask for a "credit", then your account was automatically included in the "refund" request list.  Otherwise, the softball board looks forward to getting the kids back out on the fields as quickly, responsibly, and safely as we can.  Unless national / local events dictate otherwise... Fall Rec league Softball, Formation of 2020-21 travel teams, Winter Clinics, Christmas Parade, and Spring 2021 Rec League Softball is all still very much on our radar!

2020 Fall Rec Softball

While long-term situations are still sort of unknown due to the coronavirus pandemic restrictions and state guidelines, Emmorton Softball WILL do all we can to provide a Fall rec softball program for the kids, provided we can do so safely and in compliance with guidelines and restrictions placed upon us.  So in short... we want the kids out there playing as soon as we can safely do so!  Stay tuned for Fall program information...

THUNDER Travel Softball

This summer was on track to see Emmorton field the largest and best collection of travel teams in a very long time, if not program history.  With a 12U team being bumped up to B class after a FANTASTIC fall season, and a 14U team that was going to play B ball by summer, along with some very hard-working, softball-loving, always improving 10U, 11U, and 16U teams... the travel program is reaching new heights.  While the rest of the summer remains to play out, we are HOPEFUL that the girls can get back out on the field in competition soon.  Our parent Emmorton rec council has given softball and baseball travel programs the green light to begin small-group practices now, following a set of safety guidelines.  Try-out dates / plans for Thunder travel teams forming for the 2020-2021 season (runs Sep 2020-Aug 2021) will be announced soon... but we WILL be looking to form any number of teams at ages 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U.

2020-2021 Winter Skills Clinics

For several years now, Emmorton Softball has run a successful (and very low-cost) winter clinic program.  This is a great opportunity for kids, in small groups, to work through a variety of stations each week to sharpen their softball skills in the winter and help them prepare for spring ball... whether that's rec, or possible high school try-outs.  Winter Clinics typically run about 2 hours a week, on a Saturday evening, from December through late February / early March.  Stay tuned for registration information there soon...
2020 Bel Air Christmas Parade

We hope to once again join the Christmas Parade down Main Street in Bel Air once again this December!  Stay tuned for info, and if you're interested in helping with planning and prep, maybe even working of a "Float", PLEASE feel free to reach out with ideas!  Thanks!
