Update on Re-Opening of Parks and Recreation Activities

Good evening parents and program participants! Happy new year to everyone!
I wanted to alert you to what we hope is the beginning of a somewhat return to normalcy in terms of our programs. Yesterday County Executive Barry Glassman unveiled a re-opening plan with respect to parks and recreation activities.
Phase I: Starting 2/1, outside organized parks and recreation activities will be allowed to resume at all county (non-school) sites. All state executive orders must be adhered to including group sizes, masking and social distance, etc...
Phase II: Starting 3/1, non Rec council outdoor organized activities can resume at all county non-school sites as long as they have received a permit from their parks and recreation office. As above, all state orders must be adhered to.
Phase III: Once all county staff have been afforded the opportunity to become fully vaccinated, indoor activities for Harford County Recreation Council activities can resume if the programs have previously submitted a Covid plan to Parks and Recreation. All programs must submit a plan before they will be approved for indoor use. Plans may begin to be submitted on February 1.
Phase IV: All Covid restrictions are lifted and activities return to normal and regular operations as determined by the county executive in consultation with the health department.
Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding as we worked through this process over the better part of the last 12 months. I am hopeful that we are on the cusp of a somewhat normal return to operation.

Emmorton Recreation Council
