Maryland Mudhens
2010 EMMORTON Metro Premier Basebal
The Maryland Mud Hens
The Maryland Mud Hens will be interviewing for coaches for the 2011 spring season. Try outs for the spring 2011 season will begin in Sept. stay tuned for more details. Any questions contact Steve Spencer at Steve.Spencer@rndc-usa.com or Jim harding at coachharding@comcast.net
New for 2010, The Mud Hens have fully aligned their operations under Emmorton Baseball. This provides the participants under Emmorton Baseball, three competitive venues, Rec Baseball; Travel Baseball and Metro Baseball. Of the three baseball programs offered by Emmorton Baseball, the Metro Premier program is for the elite, consummate baseball player. Players participating within the Mud Hens program are the best of the best coming through Emmorton Baseball. Under the advisement of the several Harford County high school baseball programs, the Mud Hens are provided guidance of what it takes to be successful as a high school baseball player. Though participating in the Mud Hens does not guarantee a player a high school roster spot, from age 13 and up, players are trained and evaluated to be prepared early for high school tryouts and the requirements necessary to be successful throughout the season. Once the high school season is over, many of those players participate on Mud Hens rosters to extend their baseball playing experience into the summer. We are pleased that many of the high school coaches take an active role in the Mud Hens program once their high school season concludes.
Due to the limited number of 90’ diamonds, we are only able to field one team per age group from age 13 and up. As facilities become available, we will work to expand the number of teams provided coaching volunteers are available. Metro Baseball for the younger age groups is only limited due to the lack of coach volunteers.
The Mud Hens organization will expand its reach to include teams from 11U-12U as facilities and coaching become available. Interested parties for possible coaching vacancies should contact Jim Harding (coachharding@comcast.net) for an interview.
Any questions regarding the Mud Hens Baseball program should be directed to my contact information below. We hope that many Emmorton area residents playing for other metro baseball teams will consider these exciting changes and the programs cooperative effort with the area high schools.
Please feel free to forward on to anyone who you feel may be interested in trying out. We look forward to continuing our success again in 2010.
